Our herd genetics consist of top bloodlines from around Texas and Oklahoma. Our pedigrees include names like Maxbo, Texas Sam, Daggertine, Bambi Double Drop, Gladiator, Cactus Jr., Bambi Sawblade, Renegade, "the WIZ", and Starbuck. Our breeding strategy includes production of a pure Texas bloodline, as well as, a northern line with Maxbo genetics. We continually monitor our offspring to identify our best genetic combinations so that we may carry forward their traits in efforts to produce genetically superior whitetails.

We are very detailed in our record keeping, closely monitoring and DNA testing each animal to ensure the genetic integrity within our pedigrees. Though we spend many hours in the pens to identify fawns as soon as they are born, we think it is necessary to use every method possible in efforts to corretly match the offspring not only to the sire, but just as important, to the dam.

Our herd health is very important at Sullivan Whitetail Ranch. In order for our deer to reach their full genetic potential, we make sure that the condition of our animals and breeding pens are indusive of doing so. We implement several procedures to help ensure that our deer are receiving the maximum nutrition, proper medications, as well as, being proactive to ensure pen habitat is free from foreign aggressors harmful to the whitetail deer.
